The Smith River kayaks was one of the most amazing experiences I've had. I went with my girlfriend and had amazing first time kayaking there. 100% worth it in my opinion it was so beautiful and the service was extremely nice and friendly, Carl is an amazing interesting guy, he even has a cute cat named mouse. 5/5 would definitely recommend :)

The equipment (kayak, paddles, life jackets) were excellent and Carl's responsiveness and professionalism was exceptional. I also appreciated his attention to ensuring safety during Covid times. I can not recommend Smith River Kayaks enough. Me and my two boys (10 & 12) went through the redwoods on a 5 hour self-guided kayak trip. The water was just rough enough to be exciting but still feel mostly safe. The Smith River is a jewel of a river.

Excellent experience renting from Carl. He is knowledgeable about the river and provided all the resources necessary for an overnight kayaking trip down the pristine Smith. We went in low season, though be aware-- Smith has some tricky spots here and there. Thank you!
